I began weight lifting in 1996. I was always active in sports, softball, soccer, track, some martial arts, and even a little football.  Weight training lit a fire within me, and the hunger for more knowledge in nutrition and training grew immensely.  I believe first-hand experience is the greatest teacher; I adapted to multiple eating habits and learned how my body reacted to each.

Several major injuries kept me from training steady, but did not stop me from learning, and provided me with a great foundation for post injury strength knowledge.  When I joined the military in 2005, I rapidly found the gym as a home.  Between 12 surgeries for hernias, shoulder and bicep, during my  6 ½ year service, I was determined to maintain my physical stature to my greatest ability and it was that determination that began to influence and inspire those around me.  I fed off the motivation and mentoring I could provide others and recertifed in 2008.

After being medically discharged in 2012, I decided to take my training to the next level.  I did a personal transformation in 2013 losing 10% body fat in 12 weeks, and was recognized by some of the best in the business at the Mr. Olympia 2013.  Eager to compete in physique on the NPC stage, I trained heavy and put on 14 pounds lean body mass. I took the stage in Tuscaloosa, AL and took the overall in my division.

The knowledge, confidence, and personal challenge I have found in the fitness and nutrition industry continues to increase, and has opened the world of athlete strength and conditioning for me. I have had the opportunity to learn from some of the best at West Side Barbell and Elite FTS on several occasions.  I actively train several pro MMA fighters including UFC athletes.

Jacob began weight training at the age of 12 to prepare for football. Later, in high school, he participated in many athletics and was introduced into powerlifting.  He attended the University of Southern Mississippi where he received a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology in May of 2011. Throughout his academic tenure at the University he trained at a local gym with power lifters and bodybuilders that competed in world, national, and amateur competitions and shows. He was convinced by his friends to do a bodybuilding show. The rest is history. He often refers to himself as a “PowerBuilder”; a “tweener” between powerlifting and bodybuilding.
